Argentina has a great variety of hunting
areas and species
Thanks to its vast geography and diversity of native species, this
South-American country offers one of the best wing shooting proposals
of the world.
Argentina Big Hunting counts with many years of experience in the
field; our professional hunters support and take care of our clients
personally which also receive the assistance of qualified bird boys
and highly trained pointer and retriever dogs. The number of daily
rounds shot by the hunters depends on the bird species subject to
shoot but in every case shooting will be over the expectations of
our guests.
Altogether with wonderful landscapes, a great quantity of recovered
pieces, good food, excellent wine, friendliness and shared anecdotes,
ABH guarantee an unforgettable hunting trip.
Our hunting area near Buenos Aires
Bird combo hunts of ducks, perdiz
and high volume dove shooting at two hours from Buenos Aires city
The main goal of our company is to provide the best possible hunts
with the best comfort for our clients, that’s why the main
wing shooting area of Argentina Big Hunting in South East Entre
Rios province is conveniently located at two hours by car far from
Buenos Aires connected to the capital city of Argentina by a brand
new four lanes’ highway.
Hunters who arrive down here from abroad the country are received
at Buenos Aires International Airport, assisted with their gun clearance
and immediately transferred to the hunting area. Given that most
of the international flights arrivals take place during early morning
our guests usually go hunting on their very first afternoon in the
country after a good lunch in the field.
Proximity to Buenos Aires
The great advantage of the proximity of our hunting area from Buenos
Aires is that the hunters use more efficiently their stay in the
country given that they don’t need to take internal flights
with all the benefits that it connotes: to avoid transfers between
airports, to avoid flight delays, to avoid higher costs for flight
tickets, to avoid extra luggage costs, to avoid checking guns each
time that hunters go through an airport.
Description of the hunting area. Shooting
modalities. Season.
The huge hunting region that we count with, offers the ideal habitats
for all and each species of bird shooting. Waterfowl: our extensive area of wetlands, ponds,
grasslands and creeks represent the ideal environment for waterfowl
hunting, in that sense we offer a wide variety of ducks’ species
like yellow billed pintails, rosy billed pochards, white cheek whistlers,
shovelers, silver teals, wigeons, speckled teals and some other
species which arrive to this area in their wintry migration reaching
an assortment of twelve species of ducks.
All our hunts are thought in order to optimize our service’s
quality and hunters´ comfort and we are proud to organize
each hunt suitable for each hunting group. Custom made hunts is
what we do. ABH counts with excellent hunting equipment for
its clients specially imported from US, it includes portable blinds,
all kind of decoys, robo ducks, special stools, rubber boots, waders
and so on.
Generally, the hunt starts very early in the morning when ducks
are more active and shooting is intense.
Blinds are installed by our staff prior to the arrival of the hunters
considering the position of the sun and the wind; we usually are
able to reach the blinds by car, avoiding long walks in the dark.
Besides, we use to set up the blinds at the shore of ponds or streams
on solid ground, avoiding continuous contact with the water in the
cold winter mornings. Inside it, the hunter will find everything
prepared for his morning hunt and a bird boy to call the birds and
to assist him during the hunt.
Once the hunters fill their birds’ quota set by the local
wildlife authorities their bird boys collect the birds shot down
for their later useage by our distinguished chefs.
The duck hunting season in this region goes from May to August but
in some specific provincial departments, where farmers grow rice
and therefore ducks are consider as pests, we can get off season´s
hunting licenses for the remainder of the year. Perdiz over dogs: the large natural praires for
cattle breeding are the perfect habitat for this species. The hunting
region in which we conduct our hunts is known for the abundance
of partridges given that grassy pastures that farmers use for their
cows are essential for the proliferation of these birds. The growth
of agriculture’s affected some parts of the country traditionally
known as suitable for partridge hunting by reducing the natural
space needed by the birds for breeding since they are very sensitive
to chemicals and pesticides used by farmers, for this reason the
population of perdiz has been reduced in a large segment of those
areas.
That’s why our hunting area, essentially based on cattle breeding,
offers significant advantages for perdiz hunting than big part of
the rest of the country.
Our hunters are transported to the hunting fields, usually very
close to the lodge, where they are provided with safety equipment
(orange blaze vest and cap) to start hunting observing all safety
rules.
The dogs (English pointers, German Shorthairs, Brittanies and so
on), specially trained for hunting purposes are released and begin
tracking birds followed by hunters and bird boys who walk behind
the dogs concentrated in any sign of dogs’ point. During the
hunt, hunters will be able to shoot perdiz in flight as well as
the European hare on the run; this exotic species of big sized rabbits
were introduced long time ago and they also feature a large population
of individuals in this region. Fulfilled the quota stipulated by
the local wildlife authorities for both perdiz and hare, we return
to the lodge.
Partridge meat is highly appreciated for its quality and good taste.
Like the rest of the birds that we hunt, our chefs have a variety
of recipes which are prepared and served as fine dishes to our guests.
In our bird combo hunting programs, this type of hunts are usually
performed in the afternoon given that mornings are generally used
for duck hunting.
The hunting season for this species is permitted between the months
of May to August only. Pigeon (Picazuro): The coastal strip next to the
Uruguay river represents an ideal place for pigeons since the area
counts with native bush, thick exotic forests, abundant water, urban
centers and large agricultural regions which provide all what these
birds need.
Despite the large number of individuals that we see in this area
all year round we only find them concentrated in sufficient amounts
to provide a good hunt during few months of the year. That´s
why the best time for this hunt is between February to April when
the grain of the crops are mature and pigeons eat them. Another
good option for pigeon shooting are cattle feed lots given that
pigeons get used to eating at those places when natural food can´t
be found in the bush and crops become scarce.
This hunt usually begins in the early morning before pigeons start
to eat. The bird boys install decoys and moving carrousels; pigeons
and pigeons fly towards that direction attracted by the movement
and concentration of other birds.
This modality of decoying pigeons´ shooting is highly appreciated
by our customers due to the effectiveness of the decoys, the high
volume of birds that they shoot in a hunting day and the variety
of environments where these hunts are conducted.
Dove roost near Buenos Aires.
Argentina is known worldwide because it’s excellent dove shooting.
The increase of cultivated land led to a boom in the population
of these birds which having unlimited food began to reproduce in
an incredible way.
Argentina Big Hunting, along with its main goal to continuously
improve the quality of its hunts and the comfort of its customers
found the nearest high volume doves roost from Buenos Aires city
with an outstanding result for our hunting goals.
Sportive hunters will be able to shoot almost unlimited number of
shells (1000 to 2000 round is what we expect in a normal day) since
this huge natural resource has never been shot by any other company;
therefore it never had any kind of hunting pressure.
Besides, the local dove population has grown and continuous to grow
exponentially in a way that we can just expect to get better hunting
days.

on the afternoon as a complement of our ducks’ morning hunts.
For those hunters willing to shoot doves only we can provide excellent
hunts for all day long.
Due to the wide diversity of dove hunting environments, our hunts
are conducted in the bush nearby the roost, crops or cattle feed
lots.
Given that these birds are consider as a national pest, dove hunting
season is open all year round.

well as coffee or tea of different flavors.

keep the high standards of our services and will be a happy ending
for a long day.

will have a break until lunch. We go hunting again on the afternoon

something different according to the experience of the previous
days or new opportunities available at the moment.

preferences and budget of our customers. Luxurious hunting lodges,
cozy country houses, traditional “estancias” of the
place and even a 180 years old palace are some of the choices available
for our clients
Following the main goal of our company, our desire is to place our
hunters as close as possible to the hunting grounds in order to
avoid unnecessary rides.
Dove Hunting
For those who love the sportive dove-shooting, Argentina offers
great opportunities which are difficult to find in other parts of
the world.
Our big sown plains, the rivers that furrow our lands and the bounding
extensions of hill are the perfect habitat for the different species
of doves that populate our country.
From the little eared dove (zenaida auriculata) up to the big pigeon
(colomba pica zuro), all of them move through the airs of all our
territory in huge quantities that result unbelievable for the foreign
hunters. That´s why Argentina Big Hunting’s dove hunting
expeditions have to be experienced since can´t be explained.
Sportsmen who never had the chance to shoot nearby our dove roosts
can´t imagine the spectacular flight of hundreds of thousands
of birds in the sky.
The traditional destination for high volume doves hunting in our
country is the province of Cordoba; its capital city, Cordoba, is
700 kilometers far from Buenos Aires city and because of being the
second big city in Argentina it is joined to Buenos Aires city by
several daily flights. This province has all eared dove and their
population is unbelievable. Estimated in over 12 million, doves´
population continues to increase year after year. Being similar
to the American mourning dove body wise, our eared dove main difference
is that their flight pattern lasts all day long.
There also are other provinces in the central zone of our country
that offer excellent eared doves and pigeon shootings that nowadays
constitute other alternative destinations of similar quality. Our
ranches of the province of La Pampa offer not only the best big
game trophy quality available in Argentina but great high volume
dove shooting which make them in an unique destination in the country
since avid hunters coming along to this region have the rare opportunity
to combine big game hunting and high volume wing shooting at the
same place.
Argentina Big Hunting certainly considers that in addition to those
great destinations, our hunting area in the South of the province
of Entre Rios deserves to be included as one of the best wing shooting
areas of the country because its proximity to the capital city of
Argentina and due to the incredible population of birds. Each hunter
will have the opportunity to shoot more than 1,000 shells per day.
The dove hunting season extends during the whole year, which allows
the hunter to organize each hunting trip inside an extensive variety
of dates’ possibilities.
Lodging and services are first class and this kind of programs allow
combining the hunt with complementary activities as golf, tennis,
polo, horse ridings, tourism, SPA, etc.
Due to all what we exposed above, we consider that dove hunting
in Argentina is a unique experience that our hunters do not have
to miss during their visits to our country.
Water fowl hunting (Ducks and Geese)
Thanks to the diversity of regions with the perfect features needed
to harbor all these kind of birds, Argentina also counts with the
ideal habitat for the water fowl species.
The wet pampas area (Provinces of Buenos Aires, La Pampa, Santa
Fe and Entre Rios), with a high quantity of ponds and wetlands is
one of the main duck hunting areas of the country during the months
of the Southern hemisphere’s Autumn and Winter (May to August)
which is the traditional hunting season of these species.
The rice fields of the North East of Argentina offer the chance
to do duck hunting off season, using special licenses issued for
certain ducks´ species which make damages to the rice crops.
Argentina Big Hunting´s hunting area near Buenos Aires is
one of the best duck hunting destinations due to the variety of
species and the high population of the region.
The most common species of ducks are: yellow billed pintail, speckled
teal, Southern widgeon, red shoveler and rosy billed pochard among
others.
The Magellan geese migrate in big flocks from the very South of
the country following the coast of the Atlantic Ocean over the South
East of Buenos Aires province, La Pampa province and East of Rio
Negro province looking for better climate conditions and food during
the austral winter.
Goose hunting has been banned by the Argentinean wildlife authorities
in 2008, that´s why our company doesn´t offer these
hunts ever since.
ABH provides special equipment for this hunt such portable blinds,
decoys, callers, trained dogs and so on, which guarantee the success
of the hunting journey and the comfort of the hunters
Partridge and Hare Hunting
These hunts are conducted waking with pointer dogs along the huge
Argentinean prairies.
Argentinean wet pampas used to be the traditional destination for
perdiz over dogs but due to the boom of agriculture the habitat
of this species has been deteriorated lately, affecting the proliferation
of these birds.
There are some subspecies of partridges like the spotted partridge,
the elegant crested partridge, the brush land partridge and the
red winged partridge. The most common is the first one.
As well as the water fowl the perdiz hunting season goes from May
to August.
Hare hunting is the perfect combination for this hunt given that
meantime the dogs are working in the field they point both species
indistinctively.
